This festival celebrates and elevates the oyster with a tribute to the bivalve that this region relies on so heavily, growing over 50,000 gallons annually. The festival includes oyster farm tours, oyster and win tastings, a ball and a gala.

Held in early spring, this festival honours the remarkable Pacific gray whales during their migration along the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Free public viewing stations are set up to watch approximately 20,000 gray whales as they journey 13,000 km round-trip from their mating and calving lagoons in Baja Mexico to their summer feeding grounds in the Bering and Chukchi Seas near the Arctic. Both Ucluelet and Tofino take part in the festival, which features over 70 events, including a seafood chowder chow down, an art show and a build-a-whale exhibit.
